“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in
the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed
sins, he will be forgiven” (Jas.5:14-15).
Consider: If you are praying to an unknown God in the name of an unknown Messiah, you are
taking your chances with having your prayers answered, especially in the manner you would like. Your prayer life could be a
hit or miss situation. Maybe that’s one reason miracles that happened in the first century do not seem to be happening much
today. But I can testify as to miracles performed today at the hand of Yahweh and his angelic host of heaven. Thankfully,
in spite of our ignorance, sometimes even willing ignorance, and our stumbling inadequate words and lack of faith, the Almighty Yahweh
will have mercy and compassion on whomever he will (Rom.9:14-16). In this, I take considerable comfort.
Even some people who
in fact did cast out demons and who did heal people in Yahshua’s name ran into trouble. They never really knew the Messiah. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my father in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, cast out demons in your name, and done many wonders
in your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness!’ ” (Matt.7:21-23).
This
is astounding! Professing believers and professional preachers will be doing miraculous works in the name of the Lord yet the
Lord will state that he never knew them. He never knew them. This ought to give somebody a jolt.
You mean to tell me that
Christians will be laying hands on sick folks, on folks who are possessed in one way or another, and even more, and the people doing
the praying and healing and casting are strangers to Yahshua? What does this say to those who smugly think they are going to
become actual Gods themselves, let alone those who believe they are children of God?
“Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed
lest he fall” (1Cor.10:12). We need to be paying attention and come to a greater understanding of the word of God.
Writers for
the polytheistic binitarian religion are constantly suggesting that “I AM” is one of the “names” of God (Jn.8:58). They are
wrong. If “I AM” is indeed the name of God, then why is it no one is praying to the great “I AM”? No human in the Scriptures
used this “name” and no one in the binitarian churches of God, to my knowledge, who support this concept, prays to God using this
“name.”
Every Bible translation imperfectly represents the original, because languages and cultures differ in ways that translation
by itself cannot overcome. Translations impose a fallible human interpretation between us and the infallible word of Yahweh.
“Then
Moses said to God, ‘Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and
they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?’ And God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’ And He said, ‘Thus
you shall say to the children of
“Moreover God said to Moses,
‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The LORD God [Yahweh Elohim] of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac,
and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations” (Ex.3:15).
The
true name of God, Yahweh, is his memorial forever to all generations, including ours. The phrase “I am who I am” never reappears
as a name of God—nor could I find “I am” as God’s name anywhere.
Immediately, Yahweh tells Moses that his name is “Yahweh Elohim” and
specifically defines which God to whom he is referring, saying he is the God of their fathers. (Elohim is yet another title
and in this case, amplifies the name Yahweh.) Shortly, Yahweh goes even further. “And God spoke to Moses and said to him:
‘I am the LORD [YAHWEH]. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name LORD [YAHWEH] I was
not known to them’ ” (Ex.6:2-3). The words “God Almighty” are Heb. “El” (410, strength or mighty) and “Shadday” (7706, burly,
almighty). Again, this is not a name of Yahweh but a description or a title. His name is “Yahweh.”
Under the caption “A
Warning,” a binitarian writer to THE JOURNAL (April 30, 2004) cites Rev.3:7-8 and writes: “Denying the existence of Jesus Christ as
the Creator God of the Old Testament may indeed be part of denying Jesus’ name…”. Baloney! Claptrap!! (CONTINUED...)
