15. What does the passage mean?

16. Extend the verse to its logical end.

17. Is it based on a technicality?

18. Is it consistent and harmonious?

19. Is the passage itself logical?

20. Does the writer have axe to grind?

21. Does the reader have axe to grind?

22. Are assumptions involved?

23. Where is the writer coming from?

24. Does objectivity exist here?

25. Is someone justifying himself?

26. What is the foundation of the verse?

27. Where are we going with this?!

28. What is the writer's basic philosophy?

29. Was the writer aware of his limits?

30. Note the writer's chain of thought.

31. What does the writer not do or say?

32. Has the writer made his case?

       Has the case been honestly proven?

33. Just what IS the case?

34. Be honest: Is this a salvation issue?

35. Was the case or premise ever stated?

36. What is the writer trying to say?

37. Do you sense any prejudice there?

38. Does this doctrine make a difference?

39. Does the passage connect elsewhere?

40. What is the sense your heart tells you?

41. Do not ignore your gut feelings.

42. Have confidence in your abilities.

43. Has the verse been repeated elsewhere?

44. Don't try to learn too much at once.

45. Use your God-given reasoning power.

46. Step into the passage historically.

47. How did the writer’s audience react to the passage in context?

48. What is the verse's obvious content?

49. Does the passage hang alone?

50. Check the context before and after the target passage.

51. Are the statements absolute or general?

52. Is the verse rational or irrational?

53. Does it make any kind of sense?

54. If it is taking too long to prove a concept, maybe you should drop it.
